The Google for Education team is on the front lines of helping education institutions transform learning. As a member of the team, you’ll help us change tools like G Suite for Education and Chrome to educational institutions, individually and at scale, helping them make learning more equitable, collaborative, and personalized. As a Product Marketing Manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.

 

Additional Role Description:

 

We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to help lead our web strategy and execution for Education web properties. In this role you’ll be responsible for the performance for Education web properties globally. You’ll help define the strategy for how our sites support investment in education and drive execution to deliver best-in-class web experiences that serves customers in all segments of the market.

 

You’re a strategic thinker and a collaborative leader who can help a global team deliver amazing experiences on the web based on industry best practice and user research. You’ll be both a thinker and a builder in this role, focused on how to connect with customers on the web and communicate the power and potential of technology to elevate human productivity, transform organizations and ultimately change the world. You’ll bring a data driven approach as well as proven expertise in making business decisions based on data and insights.You will help share learnings within Education and to broader on best practices to drive growth.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Set the strategy and roadmap for driving sustained long term growth for Education web properties. Work with leadership to align on business priorities and establish annual targets and goals.

 

Execute on our day-to-day web marketing needs, including building and launching pages, re-architecting portions of our site, and maintaining (or deprecating) pages managing across web designers, web developers, testing, analytics and SEO specialists.

 

Own the process and establish a framework for driving continuous optimization and learning. Work with partners to identify and prioritize opportunities, acquire resources to execute successfully, and lead delivery to achieve desired outcomes.

 

Generate insights and identify opportunities and key drivers through research and data that support acquisition and lifecycle marketing strategies including activation, onboarding, engagement, and retention.

 

Collaborate with partners in go-to-market functions including marketing, sales, and brand to optimize performance while delivering on business objectives through relevant and engaging content experiences.

 

Measure and report on performance of individual programs and initiatives and their impact across various channels, audiences, and user types.

 

Share results and learnings to help raise awareness, establish growth marketing best-practices, and influence the direction of future projects. Helping create a culture of continual improvement.

 

Manage our web development partner, with a focus on managing execution, budget and quality of output.

 

Mandatory:

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. 5-6 years of digital/web marketing, ideally with a high tech or Internet company.

 

Desired:

Excellent web marketing skills including deep knowledge of web development and strategy. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, sequence, execute and deliver projects on time and on budget. Strong data analytics skills and problem solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and influence peers cross-functionally, and to manage competing priorities. Ability to work collaboratively across internal stakeholders as well as manage external agencies or vendors to deliver project outputs. Critical thinker with the ability to solve problems independently and with innovative approach.
