The 2021 job market was unpredictable at best, and this trend looks to be continuing into 2022.

Resignation rates increased throughout the year with a slight (2.8%) decrease in the last quarter of 2021. Across the nation, companies are experimenting with ways to stay ahead of the competition, including large signing bonuses, better benefit packages, improved company culture, and more efficient onboarding processes.

In other words, as the war for talent rages on, job competition is extremely high!

To stay competitive, companies must work with their hiring managers and recruiters to develop a deeper understanding of what employees really want. In 2022, pay increases won’t guarantee an employee will accept a job offer or stay with a company. Instead, companies will need to take a deeper look at generational priorities; including physical, emotional, career, and financial-well being. Newly hired employees expect better onboarding processes, more flexibility, better communication, more feedback, and established mentorship programs.
